Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav has called for Aadhaar cards to be equipped with embedded chips to reinforce electoral integrity, arguing that this step could prevent the misuse of fake Aadhaar IDs and curb vote fraud. Speaking to party leaders in Auraiya district, Yadav framed this proposal alongside a push for a caste census, which he believes is essential for enforcing reservations more fairly. He also emphasized the rising influence of the PDA coalition—comprised of backward classes (“Pichde”), Dalits, and minorities (“Alp sankhyak”)—crediting its strength for helping the SP improve its standing in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Akhilesh didn’t stop at policy proposals. He used the platform to critique the current government, accusing it of eroding constitutional values like equality, freedom, and brotherhood by stirring societal divisions. He warned that some democratic institutions, including the Election Commission, are being undermined.

To ground his ideas in action, he urged SP workers to monitor electoral rolls closely, ensure supporters are not missing, and build party strength from the local booth level. Confident in his party’s momentum, Yadav predicted that the SP will form the government in Uttar Pradesh in 2027, saying the BJP’s dominance is losing its hold.
