In a major crack-down, four wanted gangsters from Bihar were killed in a joint operation by the Delhi Police Crime Branch and the Bihar Police in the early hours of Wednesday around 2:20 am on Delhi’s Bahadur Shah Marg in the Rohini area. The deceased are identified as Ranjan Pathak (25), the alleged kingpin of the “Sigma and Company” gang, and his associates Bimlesh Mahto (25), Manish Pathak (33) and Aman Thakur (21). All four were reportedly wanted for multiple heinous crimes including murder and armed robbery in Bihar.
According to officials, the gang was believed to be planning a major criminal operation ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, prompting the joint police operation. The encounter ensued when the police tried to intercept the gang; the suspects opened fire and the officers returned fire, resulting in all four sustaining gunshot injuries and being declared dead at a hospital in Rohini.
