Desk Correspondent , Bhopla - An 11-year-old boy was found murdered inside a blue drum at his home in Bank Colony under Kolgawan police station limits in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday. The child’s throat was slit with a sickle, and police suspect 45-year-old Mathura Rajak, a local laundry shop owner, of killing him. The boy was alone at home when the crime occurred. His mother, Asha Rajak, returned around 12:30 pm to find the house locked from outside and her son missing. After a search, police broke open the door at 3 pm and discovered bloodstains on a pillow before locating the body concealed in the drum.
An FIR has been registered under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Additional Superintendent of Police Shivesh Singh Baghel confirmed the boy was alone when the incident took place. Mathura Rajak’s shop in the colony is now closed and his mobile phone is switched off. Police teams are searching for him across the district.
Family members told investigators that Mathura had threatened them after a dispute with the boy’s father, Ramesh Rajak, who works in Maharashtra. They alleged the suspect had been harassing Asha Rajak during her husband’s absence, leading to a confrontation about ten days earlier. Police are probing the motive behind the killing.
