YouTube Star Ranveer Allahbadia in Court After Viral Controversy Sparks Legal Storm
Delhi - In a dramatic legal twist, popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, has landed in court after a controversial question on his reality show, India's Got Latent, led to nationwide outrage.
During an episode, Allahbadia asked a contestant an inappropriate and offensive question, triggering backlash across India. The fallout resulted in multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) being filed against him in several states, citing the promotion of obscenity and sexually explicit content.
Seeking relief, Allahbadia approached the Supreme Court to consolidate all FIRs into a single case. However, the Chief Justice declined an urgent hearing, stating that the matter would be scheduled in due time. Meanwhile, legal action continues at both state and national levels.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also intervened, summoning Allahbadia and others involved for a hearing on February 17, 2025. The commission strongly criticized the content and called for greater accountability from digital creators.
