Mumbai - In a startling turn of events, Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, along with 17 others, has been booked under the SC/ST Atrocities Act, raising questions about corporate ethics and social responsibility.

The Allegations Unveiled

The case was registered at Bengaluru's Sadashiva Nagar police station following directives from the city civil and sessions court. The complainant, Durgappa, a former faculty member at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and a member of the tribal Bovi community, alleges that in 2014, he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case, leading to his dismissal. He further contends that he was subjected to caste-based abuse and threats by the accused.

A Web of Accused

Among the accused are prominent figures, including former IISc Director Balaram P., and other notable academicians such as Govindan Rangarajan and Sridhar Warrier. The inclusion of such esteemed individuals has sent shockwaves through both the academic and corporate communities.

Corporate Social Responsibility Under Scrutiny

Kris Gopalakrishnan, a Padma Bhushan awardee and a stalwart in the tech industry, now finds his legacy under scrutiny. This incident not only tarnishes individual reputations but also prompts a broader discussion on the ethical responsibilities of corporate leaders.
