Kolkata Family Tragedy Ends in Brutal Murder Near EM Bypass
Kolkata - In a chilling episode that has left Kolkata in shock, a 24-year-old woman was brutally murdered near a bustling eatery on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. The assailants: a 16-year-old boy, his mother, and his cousin, driven by suspicions of an alleged affair between the victim and the boy’s father.
The victim, Rafiya Shakil, an IT professional, was sharing tea with her alleged lover when the confrontation erupted. Spotting his family approaching, the man fled, leaving Rafiya vulnerable. The teenage son, in a fit of rage, attacked her with a knife, delivering multiple blows to her neck and hands. As Rafiya attempted to escape, the cousin restrained her, and the mother joined in the assault. Onlookers intervened, apprehending the attackers, but the damage was irreversible. Rafiya succumbed to her injuries at NRS Medical College and Hospital.
